In just 2 days of bidding, the domain has already attracted bids in excess of $2 million . Twenty bidders have already placed bids on the auction which has 5 more days left. This is a stellar domain but at these price levels, Domain Name News would expect there to be “end user” (rather than speculator) bidding on this domain name.

Typically with online auctions, bids slowly come in over the first few days only to quickly elevate during the last few minutes as bidders wait to “snipe” the auction. If this trend holds true, the Pizza.com auction could push over $3 million becoming one of the top sales ever for Sedo.com and putting the domain in the upper bracket of  highest reported domain sales.  Sedo.com brokered the sale of Vodka.com in late 2006 for $3 million to Russian Standard Vodka.

6) Should you or should you not use hyphens in your domain? Well, the jury is out on the question. While some Internet marketers will tell you that domains containing hyphens are difficult to remember, spell and pronounce, others will state that domains containing hyphens are, in fact, easy to remember, spell and pronounce. Go figure. Personally, I would feel that whether or not hyphens are helpful has to be determined on a case by case basis. 7) Don't make your primary domain too long. Even though 67 character domains are a reality, exactly how many of your users will want to type a domain name like thisisanexampleofaverylargedomainname.com?

8) Always use ".com". If yours is a serious business site, avoid using domains ending in "nu" or "to". Your business will have little credibility if you do so. You can consider registering a ".net" domain, but since most people are familiar with ".com", it is better to stick to convention.

Our take is that any coffee house would benefit from 1-Dash or 1-Dial Domains like:

You're already well aware that Apple and Starbucks are buddy-buddy on at least some level, but this application would really cement their friendship. Quickorder, as you can probably imagine, would enable iPod touch users to swing by their local Starbucks, order up their favorite drink and avoid a good deal of that always questionable human interaction. Granted, what you're peering at above is still a mockup for now, but it's brimming with potential, no? Hit up the read link for lots more pics.

Any Realtor would be jealous because if it quacks Mobile, Mobile, Mobile it's the best location, location, location on the internet.

Duck test, Wikipedia and 1-Dash Domains
