Stuck in the web-centric domain world nay-sayers value anything that isn't a generic keyword or .com as 'reg-fees'
As such we aren't stuck in the Pizza.com box... obviously we like 1-Pizza.com and our 9 other hyphenated pizza keyword domain names better than pizza.com that has fragmented ownership among all the rest of the domain extensions.
No legal protection from domain squatters like 1-Pizza that is a registered business name. Since we just started developing the sites for 1-Pizza it will take a while to make an SEO impact but with 10 sites vs one we like our chances.
