Our Analysis: 2009 Update
The domain appraisal industry is drinking internet PPC & keyword mumbo-jumbo kool-aid flying in the face of Business 101. As stated before;
"Stuck in the box it's hard to think outside the pizza.com box."
Just because the domain aftermarket doesn't recognize phone centric business models says more about their web centric views than the ability to set domain name valuations.
With a total dismissal of phone centric businesses (like pizza, limo and taxi services) and no way to 'crossover' from the web to phone dominated business models the web orphaned entire industries with "pay SEO alimony" or you lose. And...
...keyword mumbo-jumbo doesn't make for a good business name.
Missing Link
Marketing needs to flow between web, phone and brand.
Bundling - Phone and web marketing from a domain name that is a workable crossover business name.
No matter the source: Everyone knows way to much money is wasted on SEO Alimony and Top 500 Businesses have sensed this for a long time.
Domainers realize that the domain name becomes the brand but have failed to utilize the brand as a business name or entity because they are hung-up on failed PPC and mumbo-jumbo keyword schemes that users hate and can't remember.
Oh boy another parked page...
A parked page is transitionary for domainers to survive as they hold a speculative portfolio of domain names. Search engine companies changed the rules and we realized holding many of our names would break the bank.
Subsequently we dumped all the domain names that held little business value; like 1-Digg.com <see post "why we dumped 1-Digg.com" Date: 3/20/2009>
We chose to keep domains that were interesting and/or held abstract value now and in the future as the convergence of web and phone business models continues.
Hello. Phone Call Centers
Too bad no one told these internet pundits that phone lists would transition to the web and bring "Alphabetical 101" along for the ride.
English Language standards remain for user convenience and consistency:
Numbers precede letters.
A Crossover Domain is a solution for Phone Centric Businesses
This is not for everyone; many web based businesses don't close sales by phone.
- Digg.com
- Yahoo.com
- Google.com
It is especially useful for businesses that failed to get their "industry keyword domain name."
AAA Business Naming strategies can now evolve to web savvy number naming with keywords wrapped up as phone numbers that brings integrated keyword marketing into the mix; web, phone and branding in one clever name.
Phone List Leverage; 1st Name Seen Gets the Call
Notice the ability to leverage placement of 1-Dash Business Names if necessary. Because the domains are the business name, mid-list placement in phone lists as an option using number spelling or letter spelling variations of the name.
Mid-list exposure goes head to head against competitors. (see below how 1-Dash Pizza and One Dash Pizza compete vs Pizza Hut)
Business Factors Validate the Name
Ownership of the dot com, defacto version of the name and State Registration of the domain as a Business name coupled with business usage results in general legal protection for all versions of the One Dash business name. No guarantees but legal sources seem to agree...
Crossover Business Examples:
...Capturing the $Billion Annual US Pet Industry Priceless? No make an offer.
...Is entrance to the $Billion Annual Lock Service Industry Priceless? No make an offer.
...Entrance to the $36 Billion Annual US Pizza Industry significantly more. Please make an offer.

2008
We noticed a way to connect to mobile surfers that can be accomplished by using 'common' words formated like phone numbers in domains and the example we use are the 4 domains following the 1-Dash and 1-Dial Naming Conventions© explained in the 'Numbers That Work' Executive Summary using the word 'Pizza'.
We present analysis of the best keywords for each industry in our articles giving examples that will challenge 'old school' domain appraisals and valuations because the 'domains' are sure to connect with mobile users and provide marketing opportunities to the site owners that adopt domains formatted like phone numbers.
We find 1-Dial Domains a novelty at this time but think that 'texters' will become early adopters. Teens and 'texters' frequently lead communication technology to the forefront.
